Through parallel and intertwining narratives on land and at sea, J35 addresses the quotidian tug between love and terror as if they were molecules entering out bloodstreams and contaminating our being to the point of complete saturation.
| it came in like a whisper. thumbed up against a minute impulse. one could feel its saline presence in brackish trails traced first from otherwhere and always towards the loaded heart. humid hours dripped past. not at their usual velocity, but in a sinuous stream that touched every-thing.
That the writing of J𝟥𝟧 is informed by the unceded landscapes traditionally and presently cared for by the Coast Salish first peoples, I wish to acknowledge the Lekwungen- speaking Peoples (comprised of the Songhees, Esquimalt and WSANEC nations) on whose traditional territories I have encountered the world from, and whose ancestral, and present-day stewardship of the rich resources and cultural teachings has shaped that beautiful place.
